First off I want to say my little experiment is still a go and the parts are on there way to me, COULD be here tomorrow but more likely Monday 3rd December.
Meanwhile I received these, pictured below, Triple Flanged Ear Buds today in the post I ordered via the Amazon website.
I was originally wanting memory foams from Shure or Comply but due to prices looked at these by Shure but due to prices that are taking the pi...mickey I found these at £5.99?!
I thought they would be crap and was immediately obvious that the diameter of my buds openings were a fair bit bigger than those on these Silicon Buds but it was not a problem. After some teasing they went on pretty tight and with some twisting went right up the the main body, no fear of them coming off like the supplied ones did then?!
Also they sound pretty OK for cheap silicone buds and I went out to run some errands so took them for a test and to my shock NEVER ONCE did either earphone come out of my ear?!
I very much doubt sound isolation (leakage) is very good as when there was no music I could hear people speaking to me. But as I do not travel on public transport during rush hours and not much anyway unless empty it does not matter a jot to me.
Pink Floyd my favourite band and all others that I personally adore and have done for a great many years. Also the items of choice for listening too, when I find them and IF I can afford them?! LOL!

NO MUSIC?! NO MEMORY?! SWEEX OPTIMUO!
One to avoid for so many reasons I cannot be arsed to list them all...
oh OK buttons, screen, tricky, problematic, touch a button and it drops volume a couple of levels. Refuses to acknowledge its own memory and refuses to acknowledge top Sandisk memory cards. Though both these never appear the same time so it is 50% of the time for each, always reads ONE and not the OTHER!
How does a piece of crap like this get sold in the UK?!
Anywhere for that matter?!?!
Grrr still refuses to read from FLICKR?!?! Numb-nuts you people!! LMAO!!
I will be back to add this in now I have been forced over to Picasa?! No Picasa refuses to upload my pictures and Blogger refuses to see my pictures on my FLICKR URLs, hmm that is covenient?!
Apparently CASH would sort it out, no wait a minute ... aren't bloggers not supposed to MAKE money and not SPEND money?!
Go figure!

AIAIAI Y-CONNECTS
Crap name but great sound!!
Well I have referred to them several times and probably had many readers, not that have many, wondering that in the world I was on about...
Well due to a curious thing in that my new Sony Walkman has transformed these and they were already damn good anyway I thought I might cover them here.
Oddly I have had a problem with these which I initially thought was something to do with the earphones but I am now 99% convinced, and I NEVER end up wrong when I am THAT convinced, that this is down to my left ear having some kind of problem. Rather bizarrely I have been well aware of a problem in my right ear for years and the sensitivity is less so than the left. However when I got these particular in ear headphones whenever I used the large and long ear-buds in the picture my hearing would go down by half or more. Rather like when you ears pop through air pressure and everything goes dull! This is what takes place when I try to use these on my left ear whereas the right has no issues. In an attempt to correct this I pierced many holes with a sewing needle in the silicone and even made a small cut and now though they still make my ears pop I can wiggle them around and this stops. However the monitor is still so loosely placed in my ear that if used while out it starts to slip out every ten minutes or so.
Now they sound better than the Atomic Floyds, which are not In-Ear headphones and need more power, hence an upcoming series of testable theories I have in mind. Certainly going out these AiAiAi's are fabulous. Normally retails around £65 I believe and made in Belgium.
They come in a fantastic container that really caught my eye and I spotted these in TK Maxx for £25 around a year ago! There were other colours but a bot loud and gaudy, not to mention girly, for my taste! They do a smaller model too and a number of other headphones besides.
They have certainly made me wonder now what pairs of £130 to £250 Shure headphones sound like.
These are utterly durable and I have never had any other problems other than one which is my own anyway.
A shock to hear that good a sound quality from an otherwise unknown brand and they were leagues ahead of my Sennheiser CX-400 II which failed after 3 weeks. Oddly a Bluetooth headset of theirs broke down after 3 months and Sennheiser do not like the number 3 that is for sure.
Better still they come with 7 sets of ear-buds and a bright yellow memory foam set. The only problem being is that the memory foam set are way too large and fiddly to get in and uncomfortable. Odd as they only included one set and I have not found smaller ones available by this company?! This is even more strange when I can tell you my ear holes are somewhere between a medium and a large so I reckon the used Marvel's Hulk as a test dummy for the memory foams?! LMAO!
CORPORATE SHENANIGANS
I first purchased a Sony Walkman in 1985?! Yes 1985 and I was living in Brighton on the south coast at the time. I loved it and Sony became my brand of choice and this stayed that way for many years which included any portable music, any TVs and also seperate stack hifis, as we called them back then. Prices I remember are £50 (1985 Walkman that was Black with Green Strip), £600 (one TV 26" around 1989), £2,200 (TV DVD Home Cinema System 1999, Girlfriend bought), £1,100 (HIFI around 1988).
But since 1999, which technically I did not purchase anyway, the only thing I bought was a Sony PSP butthe whole UMD thing cheesed off a great many people, and companies! The PSP Go, or whatever it was called, I was told went down like a 'lead balloon' and this is probably because they reied to tie people down even further ... APPLE-STYLEE?! LMAO.
I am being unfair but only in the extent that it always goes the same way and this is what is wrong with the world and has been for sometime now.
Small company becomes big, care less about customers it once did as you have now acquired a Steve Ballmer (head of Microsoft) type character ... or three.
Once innovative are now becoming restrictive and the reason is always the same... MONEY FOR NOTHING, or OLD ROPE whichever you prefer. Something that unless your rich and powerful you get locked up for.
So your planning to can manufacturing TVs? Well maybe it is because there are many hoards of people like me who started deserting you over the last dozen years or so? So you stop producing TVs but who is to say that you stubborn insistence to stay with these tactics will not then result in you announcing OTHER things you will stop producing?!
Anyway you can counter this a little by pumping up all levels of a custom preset on the Equalizer to maximum ad this surprisingly does not distort the sound in anyway. On PowerAmp on my phone I only have to BREATHE on the touch-screen on the equalizer settings and the sound will distort?! Oh OK yes I am exaggerating but only a little that is the crazy thing! I wondered why in the hell it was included at all its far more trouble than it is worth it really is. I have spent night after night messing with the thing when all along I fialed to realise it was the European Union that had wasted many nights of my time I cannot get back...hmmm perhaps a legal case against them might be in order?!
I just wish that these corporates would get together and go throw themselves in a river, I do not know what they are teaching in Business Degrees lately but if these actions are of a result of that these Universities should be lambasted for this.
SONY WALKMAN NWZ-A845 (older is better)
In my previous post I stated how I walked around Sainsburys supermarket with a grin on my face and goosebumps...
...well here is the reason why that took place.
The Sony Walkman NWZ-A845 and despite it being an older model I deliberately went for this over its newer version, the NWZ-A865, as this is way better to look at not to mention noticeably thinner. Why do companies like Sony bring out such a fantastic design and then ruin it with the replacement?!
I could have purchased the A865 brand new for £20 more than I paid for this which was obviously used, hmm maybe this music blog can double up on the best USED items to buy?! LMAO.
The sound from this had a clarity I have never heard previously before anywhere and I was utterly shocked at it being literally worlds away from anything I have had in the past and that includes a 160GB Apple iPod classic. So I now know that the reviewers that stated that the Apple iPods sounded better where lying!
As I had read on the internet this is not only MUTED by the EU but also that it is noticeable as, as they stated, once you hit 25 on the volume level any other increases from there up to the maximum of 30 makes NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever! In fact I find this true when I hit 24!
Now I have known people to be so upset with this that they have sold theirs even though they loved the device and whenever I read this I thought it was foolish, even before I received this one?!
The reason is that you can buy a small amplifier for these as you can any portable device and that includes smartphones. These are made by Fujiyama and are called the Fiio and they range from £8.00, yes eight, to £20, £50 and continue on until around £200.
The Sony also has a built in FM Radio which is nice but not primarily what I bought it for but it works well. The only thing is that whenever I see anything with the letters 'FM' I wonder how long radio will be around on that what with DAB being around a few years now?! There is no station names though on it but I do not really care.
In fact there were a couple of things, albeit slight, that if slightly better would make this about the best gadget I have EVER OWNED, BAR NONE!!
DAB instead of FM would be one, though being louder than the two smartphones I have owned, a Sweex Optimuo AND an Apple iPod Classic this is missing a couple of levels. Damn the EU and their 80dB limit because they just cannot help treating their public like little children and getting paid royally for the privilege?! Oops that is another blog entirely, lol.
Another would be 32GB or even 64GB Memory or better still a bloody SD CARD SLOT YOU MORONS?! LOL. You put them on the phones so put them on the media players. A phone is A PHONE that seems to be able to do media, albeit badly on many occasions. While a MEDIA PLAYER IS A MEDIA PLAYER?! One is designed to do this from the ground up hence its existence while the other is NOT!! It is not difficult to work out and like an ex friend said to me before we fell out ... IT's NOT ROCKET SCIENCE?!
If you all want to keep selling these kind of products and do not want them going the way of what I hear Sony TVs are going then I suggest you stop the messing around with many things, stop the corralling of sheep as your actions have not gone unnoticed and try selling the public and the specific groups you are targeting with ... WHAT THEY BLOODY WANT?!?!
What I have in the pictures below is a nigh on perfect gadget and OK I can live without the DAB, sure, and just another thing on my wanted list. BUT check the laws on the supposed EU limits on sound, do not let them push you around like they do us. Add an SD Card slot....
I digress ... again! This Sony Walkman is unbelievably thin when held in the hand and yet it does not feel loose or fragile in any way. In fact it feels of superior quality entirely.
Under the last photograph which is of the sockets at the bottom of the device is a little prelude into Part TWO of this review, albeit on another gadget linked to this one. ;)
Right the last photo showing the 3.5mm jack and docking/charging socket.
Now I have discovered that the limitation by the EU is applied to the 3.5mm jack socket? So sound coming from the dock would be LOUDER?! You would think that someone would think of a way to get around this right? Well they DID!! After reading a great many reviews on the Fiio Headphone amplifiers I realised that as well as plugging them into a jack socket out of the box you can also buy an adaptor that takes the sound from the DOCK SOCKET?! This includes all portable devices provided that they had a dock socket that can carry a sound signal.
I have a couple of theories that include variations on this and over the next month I will be testing my theories and I have not read of anyone else trying my theory out on the Internet, well one of the two, but I full intend to cover them right here.
Oh dear that now means THREE PARTS?! LMAO!

REDISCOVERING MUSIC YOU HAVE HEARD FOR YEARS - Prelude
Well I must put a little note in here and a preview to something I will post tomorrow.
It will go further into the minefields of what I previously posted about but I will also be revealing some gadgets for music too, one I have own already it seems I a was unfairly harsh on and another that I have just acquired!
I shall point out that part of the topic involved my ears and the NHS and though this should technically be in the other blog I have on corruption, which oddly has far more visitors by a country mile than any of my others. Maybe that evidence does seem to be having an affect.
Yesterday I walked around Sainsburys listening to music with a constant smile on my face and goosebumps?! I have heard some good sounds of late, albeit MUTED a little, but yesterday AND today and pardon the pun one is not intended I could NOT believe my ears?!
I have also discovered something that is quite interesting and fully intend to put this to the test in the next couple of weeks!!
It seems that the EU 80dB limit that everyone seems to adhere to despite it not being a law set in stone is not quite as set in stone as the powers that be had first intended...
...more on that in a couple of weeks time when I have put these theories to the test and make sure I have not misinterpreted something to do with a certain item of hardware, which seems to have an EXTRA workaround that if true would be ... fantastic and I CANNOT WAIT!!!
Part ONE tomorrow with some photographs and Part TWO in two weeks time, yes well I have to wait too you know?!?! Hehehe.
LMFAO!!
